Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?-

For a bath and trim it takes about 4 hours but for a bath and tidy it usually takes 3. Time is very dependent on a couple of things though. One the length of your dogs coat, two if your dog has any matting and three on the size of your dog.

Where do my dogs go when they are not being handled?-

Depending on the dog we have crates (large and medium sized), pens and we even have leads that are on the ground and tied to tables to secure your dogs. Each dog has the opportunity to pick their spot. Most dogs choose a crate but we have some that prefer to be tied up close to us. It is up to the individual dog.

Why don't you let the dogs all run around together?-

Whilst some dog salons allow this we do not. We believe that safety is paramount in our core values. Whilst some dogs may be allowed to run around together (friends and family usually), most dogs find the stress of running around with dogs that may be larger, stronger or even bullies toward them, highly stressful. This can lead to biting and other unwanted behaviours. Also by not allowing them to come into contact with other dogs we decrease the chances of flea infestations and outbreaks of Kennel cough and other transmittable diseases.

Why does it take so long, other dog salons can do my dog in an hour?- Unlike some dog salons we give your dog a break in between being handled. For example; once your dog has been bathed or brushed we will give them some time to rest. This decreases stress on your dogs bodies particularly as they get older, as well as decreasing the risk of injury. It also gives us more of an opportunity to bond with your dogs so they enjoy coming back time and time again.
